Summary

We believe in the power of role models. Our organization seeks to raise the aspirations of young girls by connecting them with amazing women. By introducing girls aged 10-15 to a variety of careers and options, we can combat the gender stereotypes which still play a major role in their future education and career choices. We work with volunteer role models to help empower young girls to follow their dreams.

Sadly, gendered stereotypes and perceptions affect girls all over the world, and this has a significant impact on their education and career choices from an early age. Research shows that after the age of 12, girls' confidence in their own abilities drops by 30%, 55% of girls between the age of 7 and 21 say that gender stereotypes affect their ability to say what they think, and girls as young as 6 yrs old consider themselves less bright than boys.

Role models play a critical role in breaking down gender stereotypes. Inspiring Girls USA seeks to raise the aspirations of girls by connecting them with women from different backgrounds, sectors, and life experiences. We do this by working in three ways: in-school programs, online sessions, and our Video Hub. All our resources are free and give the opportunity for women to share their journeys to show the diversity of opportunities for girls.

Many of our opportunities are only one-hour and online and have flexible scheduling, making it easy to tailor engagement to your availability.
