There is nothing like the love that comes from our pets. Pet therapy helps bring our hospice patients a sense of comfort, joy, and companionship in the final stages of their lives.
Have a dog that is a registered therapy dog? Our hospice patients would love to meet them!
Pet owner will need to become a Caris Patient Volunteer and provide the pets paperwork and vaccine record before visiting.
For the owner to become a volunteer an application will need to be filled out. Please email Volunteer Coordinator Anna Hale for more information at ahale@carishealthcare.com.
Requirements for volunteers:
-16+ years old with valid drivers license and auto insurance
-Registered with the MO Family Care Safety Registry (required in Missouri)
-Take a drug test
-Take a 2 part TB Skin Test
-Online trainings and Short Orientation
-COVID Vaccinated
