The YOUNITED Teen Advisory Council is an initiative of Mesa United Way, a 501(c)3 nonprofit.
Our mission is to bring together youth to address the issues of mental health and suicide in the East Valley. The YOUNITED Teen Advisory Council is dedicated to developing unique initiatives to improve awareness and access to mental health resources in the community. Examples of these include education and outreach events, fundraisers, and social media campaigns. The YOUNITED TAC is always looking for motivated, compassionate teens age 13 to 18 to join our mission. As part of the Council, you will help educate the community and build a stronger support network for youth as they navigate the different challenges and stressors of life.
We meet in a combination of Zoom and in person meetings. Meetings are held at least twice a month, typically on Saturday between 10am-12pm.
As a member of the YOUNITED Teen Advisory Council you would be responsible for:
- Contributing to brainstorming conversations related to youth resources for suicide prevention;
- Participating in bi-monthly meetings;
- Sharing ideas for outreach and marketing;
- Being a spokesperson about mental health and suicide prevention among your peers;
- Assisting with planning and implementing outreach programs and events; and
- Sharing announcements, etc. via social media.
- Attending mental health and suicide prevention related trainings and events
