In the Adult Education program we are thinking about and planning some workshops to hold in November. We want to hold Driver's Education, Computer Literacy, and Financial Literacy workshops. It is likely that Driver's Ed will occur and then only one of the other two, either computer literacy or financial literacy. It is more realistic to do 2 of the 3 than to do all three workshops.
We are looking for volunteers who can teach these subjects. Materials will be provided. The workshops can be online or in-person, TBD.
Teachers must be professional, respectful, and be committed to showing up for their classes and committed to the volunteer position as if it were a paid job. When volunteers take the volunteer positions seriously, it is better for everyone and things go smoother.
There will be an opportunity for volunteers to receive a professional development session during their time at LALDEF.
If you're interested, please don't hesitate to email nate.philips@laldef.org
