Volunteer Action for Aging

Heart in Hands

Volunteer Action for Aging is a volunteer service program that provides activities for seniors designed to increase socialization and an overall sense of well-being.

Cyber Senior Program Description: Volunteers are paired with a senior to help answer questions about their personal tech devices (iPad, etc.). How to check email, save a contact, use Facebook, set calendar reminders, etc. are examples of some of the questions you may assist with as a Cyber Senior Volunteer.

Empower a senior to embrace technology! Help them to stay connected with loved ones and their community. By offering your time, you are helping to combat social isolation that many seniors experience.

During the pandemic, make a difference in improving the social engagement of seniors by teaching them how to connect with loved-ones through the use of technology.

Qualifications: Enjoy speaking with seniors, social, able to work with clients of a diverse background, patient, independent, comfortable with technology (you don't have to be an expert!). Must be 18+ years old.

Seeking English and bilingual English/Spanish speaking volunteers!

Brief training provided via Zoom. Background and reference checks required.

Time Commitment: Just 2-4 hours per month! Flexible schedule!

Location: Volunteers can be located anywhere in the U.S. - Seniors are located in Southern California
