Adopt a family for Thanksgiving!
Give the gift of a meal to a family in need! During the winter months, we put special emphasis on in-kind donations to support our neighbors. Adopt a family and donate a basket with all items needed to provide a homecooked Thanksgiving meal!
Please provide all items on the list, to the best of your ability.
Holiday Box items:
- 1 Turkey or 1 chicken
- 1-2 Boxes of Stuffing Mix
- 2 Boxes of Instant Potatoes,
- 2 Boxes of Macaroni and Cheese
- 2 Cans of Yams
- 2 Boxes of stuffing
- 1 Bag of Brown Sugar
- 1 Bag of Marshmallows
- 2 Cans of Green Beans & Corn
- 4 bundles of fresh collard greens
- 1 Can of Cream of Mushroom Soup
- 1 bag or can of Crispy Fried Onions
- 1-2 Cans of Cranberry Sauce
- 1-2 Jars of Gravy (Or packets)
- 4 Sticks of Butter
- 2 Boxes of Cornbread Mix
- 1 Package of Dessert Mix (Pie/Brownie/Cake Mix)
- 2 Boxes Jello Mix
Optional Items: - Disposable Plates
- Plastic Utensils
- Holiday Napkins or Paper Towels
- Disposable Foil Pans

Mission Statement
To help alleviate hunger in our community in an environment of respect, care and hospitality. The Walnut Hills Soup Kitchen provides 5 meals per week; closed on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The OTR Kitchen serves 4 meals each week: closed on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Description
The Queen City Kitchen in the oldest soup kitchen in Cincinnati and was founded by Reverend Thomas Bokenkotter in 1976.
Tom Geiger joined Reverend Bokenkotter in 1976 in caring for the neediest of us in our great city. Reverend Bokenkotter opened the Walnut Hills Soup Kitchen and the Walnut Hills Pantry in 1984. Each facility has a manager; all other support comes from volunteers.
Rob Lemmons is President of the QCK Board of Directors, and Shauntia Edwards serves as Executive Director. The Queen City Kitchen is a 501 c 3 Non Profit Organization.
