MARIN YMCA - OLDER ADULT ADVISORY BOARD

The Marin YMCA is currently seeking applicants to serve as a member on a newly formed Older Adult Advisory Board. The advisory board will meet monthly at a day/time to be determined that works for the majority of members.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Marin YMCA is committed to serving the Marin older adult community by providing opportunities to engage in healthy living activities. We are working to create an inclusive community space at the Marin YMCA facility that is welcoming to the diverse communities and individuals that compose those 65 and older in Marin. The Older Adult Advisory Board is the body which the Marin YMCA Board and Staff will delegate a measure of responsibility and authority to advise the Marin YMCA regarding the services provided to those over the age of 65 at the Marin YMCA and how to reduce barriers to accessing those programs and services for all.

Each member is charged to carry on their work in a manner consistent with the general purposes and objectives of the YMCA and its policies and procedures. Advisory board members should exemplify the YMCA's core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. Board members should show respect for the viewpoints of others and be willing to accept majority decisions, even when in conflict with one's own position. First and foremost, advisory board members should have an interest in the objectives of the board and a desire to improve the quality of programs and services available to older adults in Marin County

INTERESTED IN APPLYING?

If you would like more information or are interested in serving on the advisory board, please reach out directly to Karly Newman via email knewman@ymcasf.org or by telephone at (415) 446-2113.
