Volunteer Donor Relationship Manager - Remote - Middlesex and Norfolk Counties (Metro West suburbs)

PAWSitive Pantry MA is looking for a volunteer Donor Relationship Manager.

Are you excited about helping pets in need? Do you value the importance of pets for people’s well-being? Would you like to help us in our mission to ensure pet food security for those in need while making valuable connections with people in the nonprofit animal sheltering and food pantry fields?

Please join PAWSitive Pantry MA!

The Donor Relationship Manager for Middlesex and Norfolk Counties (Metro West suburbs) would:

-Contact retailers and other potential pet food and pet supply donors (usually retailers) within Middlesex and Norfolk Counties and MetroWest suburbs, to continue established relationships, and, when needed, start and maintain relationships, with retailers in order to secure donations.

-Have confidence calling communicating with managers, concisely summarizing PAWSitive Pantry over the phone and via email when needed.

-Use a dynamic database and keep track of each contact made and make notes about the next planned contact, and informing transportation volunteers when donations are in need of pickup.

-Use our communication app, Crew, to efficiently communicate with other volunteers across a wide network of partner organizations

Requires judgement regarding determining how often to stay in touch, skill in negotiating alternative arrangements if donations are not available, such as asking for gift card donations or for permission to have donation boxes set up or for food drives to be set up.

Occasionally this position benefits from the volunteer coordinating with the store manager and other volunteers to arrange for outside food drive tables or other small events if the store is willing to participate, and/or negotiating for deep discounts on food or cat litter.

Mission Statement

Pet Food Task Force is a program of PAWSitive Pantry. PFTF is a collaboration of animal shelters and humane societies within MA working together with retailers, donors, volunteers, to provide pet food to food pantries and social service programs. Our mission is to provide pet food security to those in need, honor the important role pets play in people's lives and work toward keeping people and their pets together despite financial difficulty.

Description

Pet Food Task Force is composed of over 15 animal shelters and animal welfare organizations. We have helped over 130 food pantries and other programs to distribute pet food to those in need. We started when COVID restrictions kicked into effect, but it is clear that despite what's going on with the pandemic, pet food security is a pressing issue in our society.
