Hello potential Volunteer!
TO APPLY FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY PLEASE VISIT: https://clioconnect.org/volunteer-application
Clio is a non-profit organization which began in response to COVID-19 to attempt to address the impact of social isolation on older adults in our community. Now, a year and a half later, we are still working to combat social isolation and have expanded into community engagement and connecting older adult participants with the resources they need to live the lives they desire and deserve!
As a volunteer, you will be matched with an older adult who you call on a weekly basis to check-in about their current resources or concerns and to get to know and build a relationship with! Additionally, you will send a letter every other week and a care package two times per quarter (the costs of these are covered by our organization).
Before being matched, you will be given access to our orientation and training resources to prepare you to volunteer with us. We have quarterly meetings where you can get more training information, connect with volunteers, and provide input into how we operate! Finally, we are working to establish a volunteer board to advocate for the interests of our volunteers and identify advocacy opportunities in our community.
If you have any questions now or in the future, please don't hesitate to reach out to us! You can reach us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
No additional volunteer opportunities at this time.

The mission of Clio is to activate the power of interpersonal connection to enrich and celebrate the lives of older adults living in New York City. We envision a New York City in which all older adults have the social support and resources they want and need to live their fullest lives.
Clio connects older adults -- particularly those who do not have access to other supports -- with trained volunteers, resources, and one another.
We screen volunteer applicants and train them before matching them with an older adult with similar interests and a shared language. Volunteers provide their paired older adults with weekly phone calls, biweekly letters, and care packages. They also conduct weekly needs assessments that the professional team monitors to provide referrals and follow-up.
Since our inception in April 2020, we have also expanded to provide service navigation (a form of case management) to support our older adult participants in accessing the services they need and want. We are constantly looking to expand the way that we connect with community partners, volunteers, and older adult participants. We do so with the aims of both connecting with our community and supporting community members in creating the changes they wish to see in their lives and in their various communities.
This is a Virtual Opportunity with no fixed address.
