ORGANIZATION: Brass Bands England

Events Volunteers Required

Brass Bands England is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to support a number of exciting events in 2022. Volunteers will be expected to fulfil a range of duties such as acting as event runners, stage crew, stewards and programme sales.

Volunteer Tasks

  • Trader support
  • Welcome desk
  • Meet and greet coaches
  • Holding room co-ordinator
  • Band runner
  • Stage crew
  • Adjudicator and music score stewards
  • Programme sales
  • Box office support

Volunteer Requirements

Volunteers must be available for a minimum of 1 full day of either event, but preferably more. Volunteers will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS check in order to take part. The cost of this will be covered by Brass Bands England.

All volunteers must also attend a volunteer training session in advance of their event date. Training sessions will be held:

At the Brass Bands England Offices (Barnsley) on:

Saturday 12 February

Sunday 13 February

In Leicester (Venue TBC) on:

Saturday 19 February

Sunday 20 February

Reasonable travel expenses and catering will be provided for both the training days and the event days. Accommodation will also be provided where necessary. Please make us aware of any accessibility requirements when applying. This will not impact the assessment of your application, but allow us to allocate you suitable roles for your requirements.

We’re one of Arts Council England’s Sector Support Organisations. As part of this we provide support to bands, and the wider music and arts sector, to support the sector to excel in music-making, increase participation, and connect with communities.

We work with a wide range of partners in both strategic and informal ways to help share the fun, challenges and rewards of being involved with a brass band.

We promote and share the brass band story and encourage the support of bands across the country.
