Become the Chair of the Youth Committee for Women's Rights.
The YCWR which will consist of hardworking youth advocates that will meet with legislators, advocate for/against policy, and lobby in order to achieve gender equality and women's liberation. The commission is hosted and supported by Their Stories Political, a nonprofit organization aiming to channel youth activism to enact change at the legislative level.
In this position, Chairs will lead a team of passionate young (intersectional) feminists with the goal of enacting sustainable, systemic, and meaningful legislation for women. They will oversee a global committee that operates with the goal of creating legislative change through bills, policies, etc. Together, the committee will tackle topics like r*pe culture, women's education, abortion rights, financial independence, equal pay, intersectionality, discrimination, systemic barriers, and more.
Responsibilities of the Chair would include: organizing and facilitating committee meetings, following up with individual members and representatives, ensuring that the committee meets in long-term goals, and educating its members on lobbying & political advocacy.
