Project Hawai’i, Inc. is an award-winning volunteer staffed nonprofit dedicated to end the cycle of homelessness among our homeless children. Our programs are developed to help each child gain their own self-esteem and self-worth while learning the life and social skills needed to help them succeed.

Our programs are all supported by the community and public donations to assure that our homeless children benefit from everyone's efforts.

As the designated chair for the COC of Hawai'i, it is my great responsibility to help spread the awareness of the crisis our homeless children face. As well, invite the community to be part of the solution and make a difference in their own way.

This volunteer position is open to anyone who wants to make a difference and has a few hours this month to spread the word about Project Hawai’i, Inc. and the impact we have on homeless children.
We are asking each volunteer select ONE DAY a week throughout the month of November to participate or to select an entire week to post daily.

There are a few ways to be involved.

  • Simply follow us on social media and share our posts that you enjoy.
  • Create your own posts about homelessness and Project Hawai’i, Inc. and TAG us on your social media platforms @projecthawaiiinc You can find so much information on our website or from our social media posts.
  • If you are really creative and want to help CREATE posts we can share on our social media or website, we are seeking those who would like to make mini videos, including the tick tok style, or personal statements why ending homelessness is important to you.
  • Want to make a larger impact? Our goal for the month of November is to have all our homeless children sponsored with their monthly meal at $7. each. We have a simple sign up form on our site that can be shared. We need just need YOU to create a shout out to invite your family and friends to make a commitment once a month to feed a child. (we have lots of support to get you started as well)
  • Want to host a fundraiser with your team, groups, club, company, etc. We can set you up with your own online fundraising page, we have text to donate, and other resources to make this a success. November is a great time to bring awareness to being grateful and sharing love to those who go without.

Description

Project Hawai’i, Inc. is an award-winning volunteer staffed nonprofit that provides services to over 1,600 individual homeless children annually across the islands of O'ahu, Maui and the Big Island of Hawai'i. The nonprofit strives to change the lives of children by providing a sense of stability through interactive programs, including educational summer camps, holiday events, school support, and educational training. Additionally, the nonprofit provides monthly outreach support to assure that children are supplied with healthy meals, personal hygiene care, and emergency services.

Since the foundations inception in 2003, we are proud to announce we have successfully helped over 2,000 homeless children escape and BREAK their cycle of poverty as they continue to build their families with a strong foundation.

In Hawaii, there are over 23,000 children living in substandard and homeless situations.
