Join our Volunteer team to help Meals on Wheels in King County fight hunger and isolation! As a Meals on Wheels Volunteer, you will belong to a team committed to helping homebound seniors maintain their health and independence with nutritious food, personal contact, and caring service.
Coordinator: As the Volunteer Coordinator you will be working with a wonderful volunteer team, coordinating schedules, helping delivery drivers head out with the correct bags, and assisting with various office tasks that keep Meals on Wheels humming along. You would be needed Thursdays, 8am - 11am, at the MOW office located at the Federal Way Community Center. Other coordinator activities can be done remotely. The time commitment averages 3 - 5 hours a week.
Qualities sought in Meals on Wheels volunteers: Good communication and people skills, reliable, and a commitment to the well-being of homebound elders. This is an on-going volunteer commitment and we are looking for someone that is available long term.
Requirements: Complete the Meals on Wheels Volunteer Application, consent to a Washington State Patrol background check, the ability to lift 15 pounds, be age 21 or more, and have a WA driver's license and auto insurance.

Our eleven programs operating throughout numerous community and senior center sites are constantly striving to expand the provision of food security, transportation, health & wellness, and assistance services to under served and marginalized populations. We are committed to helping all people, especially those in low-income communities and communities of color, obtain the services they need while feeling included and respected in a community that affirms aging.
