Homestead Hospice volunteers have been enriching the lives of patients for years. Volunteers are a vital part in our effort to provide quality patient care. Volunteers are provided orientation and training needed in order to support our patients and staff members. Homestead Hospice is here to work with your schedule and strengths. We want you to feel welcomed as a volunteer. We want to give you a chance to make a difference.

Homestead Hospice offers two types of volunteer positions. Direct volunteer - We offer a chance to work directly with the patient. Indirect volunteer - We offer a chance to work with our staff at the office. We're accepting volunteers interested in either position.

Direct volunteers make friendly visits to patients. Direct volunteers are not allowed to do any hands on care (feeding, bathing, or transferring). Volunteers working directly with patients act as a companion. Volunteers in this position could sit and chat with the patient while the caregiver is out.

Indirect volunteers would help our staff around the office. This position is comparable to an administrative assistant. Attention to detail helps a lot. Volunteers in this position could help answer phones, send emails, or organize documents.
