Do you want to volunteer and get some exercise at the same time? If so, the Minneapolis VA is seeking Volunteers to assist in our Client Assisted Services (C.A.S.) department with physically escorting frail, non-ambulatory Veterans to and from their various appointments throughout the medical center.
This opportunity requires Volunteers whom are energetic, patient-centered, flexible, have excellent verbal communication skills and have the physical ability to push a wheelchair and/or litter all with a compassionate and respectful manner.
With current OSHA and VA safety policies and procedures during the COVID pandemic, all Volunteers are required to wear a medical face mask. VHA Directive 1193 and VA Handbook 5019 requires that Volunteers in this role be COVID-19 vaccinated.
Current openings for C.A.S Escort Volunteers are:
Monday, Thursday and Friday mornings 8:00am-12:00pm
