If so, the Minneapolis VA is seeking Volunteers to assist in our Client Assisted Services (C.A.S.) department with physically escorting frail, non-ambulatory Veterans to and from their various appointments throughout the medical center.
This opportunity requires Volunteers whom are energetic, patient-centered, flexible, have excellent verbal communication skills and have the physical ability to push a wheelchair and/or litter all with a compassionate and respectful manner.
With current OSHA and VA safety policies and procedures during the COVID pandemic, all Volunteers are required to wear a medical face mask. VHA Directive 1193 and VA Handbook 5019 requires that Volunteers in this role be COVID-19 vaccinated.
