Soccer Without Borders is looking for a warm and responsible volunteer to support our high school girls at our Fremont Girls Program. This is about a 2.5 hour weekly commitment from 1:30-4pm. Responsibilities include: help facilitate practice, greet girls before practice, and ideally play during scrimmage or help support the scrimmage as a referee. Candidates should be: patient, energetic, and have a soccer interest. Spanish speaking language is helpful but not required.
The Soccer Without Borders mission is to use soccer as a vehicle for positive change, providing newcomer youth with a toolkit to overcome obstacles to growth, inclusion, and personal success. This progam has 25 amazing girls from over 5 different countries, led by an incredible program alumni in Coach Ney. Supporting this program would give any volunteer an inspiring insight into the challenges experienced by immigrant girls, the power of team sports, and how soccer can be used as a tool in overcoming adversity. It's also SO much fun.

Mission Statement
The Soccer Without Borders mission is to use soccer as a vehicle for positive change, providing under-served youth with a toolkit to overcome obstacles to growth, inclusion, and personal success. SWB Baltimore provides soccer coaching, educational support, and a safe and inclusive community for immigrant and refugee children in the Baltimore area.
Description
In the past year, SWB has worked directly with 2800 youth from 75 countries across our domestic and international programs. Additionally, SWB engaged nearly 5,000 thousand additional youth through our leagues, clinics, tournaments, and bridge-building events. SWB’s mission of facilitating growth, inclusion and personal success for underserved youth is made possible by the quantity of direct hours invested at our programs (average core participants spend 10-15 hours/week with SWB), and our investment over time. 76% of youth returned to SWB from last year to this year, a retention rate that continued even into the teen years, when 70% of youth in the US drop out of organized sport.
