I need a female volunteer to help me with soccer practice on Fridays for my U14 girls team. This is about a 3 hour weekly commitment from 3-6pm. Responsibilities include: help facilitate practice, drive girls home after practice, and play during scrimmage. Candidates should be: patient, energetic, and have a soccer interest. A second language is preferred but not required.

The Soccer Without Borders mission is to use soccer as a vehicle for positive change, providing newcomer youth with a toolkit to overcome obstacles to growth, inclusion, and personal success. This time in particular is a great opportunity for you to help participants re-engage with each other in a positive way after a year of social distancing.

About SOCCER WITHOUT BORDERS

Location:

3700 Eastern Ave, Baltimore, MD 21224, US

Mission Statement

The Soccer Without Borders mission is to use soccer as a vehicle for positive change, providing under-served youth with a toolkit to overcome obstacles to growth, inclusion, and personal success. SWB Baltimore provides soccer coaching, educational support, and a safe and inclusive community for immigrant and refugee children in the Baltimore area.

Description

In the past year, SWB has worked directly with 2800 youth from 75 countries across our domestic and international programs. Additionally, SWB engaged nearly 5,000 thousand additional youth through our leagues, clinics, tournaments, and bridge-building events. SWB’s mission of facilitating growth, inclusion and personal success for underserved youth is made possible by the quantity of direct hours invested at our programs (average core participants spend 10-15 hours/week with SWB), and our investment over time. 76% of youth returned to SWB from last year to this year, a retention rate that continued even into the teen years, when 70% of youth in the US drop out of organized sport.
