BEACON for English Language and Literacy, an award-winning literacy organization, is recruiting volunteers to teach English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) online, via Zoom. Volunteers teach once (or twice a week) and must plan their own lesson, using materials provided by BEACON.

No second language or teaching experience is required. Experience using Zoom is a plus. Free, professional level training is provided.

The twelve-week classes are Monday and Wednesday mornings from 9:30-11:30 AM and Tuesdays and Thursdays evenings from 7:00-9:00 PM; November 28, 2022 - March 2, 2023.

Vision Literacy Volunteers Needed for Adult Students. Adult Education Works! BEACON for Adult Literacy, an award-winning literacy organization, is recruiting adult volunteers to become ESL teachers in the Manassas area. Volunteer are needed to provide small group instruction in English as a Second Language (ESOL). No second language or teaching experience is required. Free professional level training is provided. Standardized curriculums and textbooks are used. The curriculum is user friendly and makes teaching easy and fun! Description

BEACON is a low-cost program for adults which offers literacy instruction in the areas of ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages), Pre-GED preparation (high school equivalency), and citizenship preparation. Our students come from all over the world. Trained volunteers work with individuals and small groups at our partner sites throughout the Manassas area.
