We have been completely volunteer-run since 2016, and we are looking to expand.
We are looking for a volunteer grant writer to help us identify, write, and submit grants so we can maximize resources and income for the organization to continue doing the work deeper.
This nonprofit organization is a registered 501(c)(3) that focuses on educational equity.
We are based in San Diego, but this is a virtual opportunity. In addition, we are willing to write letters of recommendation or support for future endeavors. This can be open to anybody with or without experience.
Some of our achievements so far:
- Annual student conference centering on student work since 2018
- Every student we have worked with has been accepted to a college of their choice, including graduate schools
- Full-ride scholarships for several students
- Assisted students with obtaining over $350,000 worth of funding
- Worked with other organizations like UCLA and the San Diego Parks and Rec for discussions around equity and education

About THE DIGNIFIED LEARNING PROJECT
Location:
Linda Vista, SAN DIEGO, CA 92111, US
Mission Statement
The Dignified Learning Project aims to revolutionize education by approaching teacher training, community engagement, and student services from a social justice perspective.
Description
This non-profit was born from an idea: instead of just talking about theories in the classroom, we need to start using these ideas in our community to reshape education. We hear so much about reform, but so few ideas come at it with ideas that look at education as a whole - issues of homelessness or food, access to hygiene or computers, or issues in our system ranging from Pre-K through college.
The Dignified Learning Project has several goals: to make equitable education accessible in San Diego and to transform education to be focused on connection and reflectoin. We will do this through services, such as teacher training, including discussions on dialogical education and respectful techniques, community workshops that will explain disparities in our communities and our individual, community, civic, and social responsibilities, as well as student resources, from assisting with the college application process or providing help with developing extracurricular activities.
