Help first grade students improve their reading skills. With the Ready, Set, Read! program you will receive the training and curriculum to work one-on-one with 1st grade students on skills that will make them strong readers. Teach letters, sounds, blends, words, vocabulary, reading and comprehension.
If you are fluent reader with a love for children and reading and have the time and patience to work with young students you will enjoy this opportunity.
This is for Winter Haven schools only. Each tutor works with each student for 30 minutes twice a week. This opportunity is a commitment of time and training.
Time Commitment - September 12 - May 18th.

Leading Through Experience! You've gained a lifetime of experience. Now is the time to put your skills and talents to good use by volunteering through RSVP. RSVP provides opportunities for people 55 and over to make a difference in their community through volunteer service. RSVP volunteers contribute anywhere from a few to over forty hours a week, serving through non-profit, faith-based, and governmental agencies to help meet critical community needs. RSVP offers maximum flexibility and choice to its volunteers. RSVP matches the personal interests and skills of volunteers with opportunities to help solve community problems and offers supplemental accident insurance while on duty, and on-the-job training from the agency or organization where volunteers are placed.
