ORGANIZATION: Metropolitan Family Service

MFS LOGO

We offer volunteers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of Oregon's low-income Latino families - no Spanish required, just the desire to help!

Through considerable volunteer support and in partnership with the IRS, Metropolitan Family Service's Impuestos Comunitarios program provides certified basic tax preparation to the low-income Latino community free of charge, each season helping 1,000 taxpayers in need secure over $2 million in refunds. This season we aim to grow our volunteer team in order to meet the increasing demand for this invaluable service and we need your help!

By volunteering just four hours a week during tax season as a trained Quality Reviewer you can provide a vital service and in turn an important step towards economic security to those most in need. You will also gain a meaningful new experience and become a part of a great team of like-minded people.

Quality Reviewers are essential to the success of our program, ensuring high-quality, accurate preparation and service. Spanish not required. Continuing Education (CE) credit available. Orientations happening now, online training available in December. Service runs January 24th through April 18th. Evening and weekend volunteer shifts available. Please contact our Site Coordinator Karen Keating at karenk@mfs-cashoregon.org with any interest or questions you have. We look forward to hearing from you!

Description
