Shelters are non-profit organizations. We rely entirely on donations of time and money. No shelter can afford to hire full-time staff members to care for and walk every single animal, and that is why it is so important to have volunteer help. Volunteers are able to socialize the animals, spend time with them, walk them, and help clean their cages or feed them.
