ORGANIZATION: Berkeley Schools Volunteers

Berkeley Schools Volunteers

Change the world one classroom at a time through Berkeley Schools Volunteers (BSV), a program of the Berkeley Public Schools Fund.

BSV matches committed community members with teachers and staff in one of our 20 Berkeley Unified public schools - preschool through 12th grade, and the adult school. BSV Classroom Volunteers (CVs) are custom matched by BSV to BUSD Host Teachers who’ve requested extra adult support in their classroom. Matches are based on grade-level and subject area interests of the volunteer, and educator needs. Under the guidance of the BUSD Host Teacher, classroom Volunteers work with students 1:1, in small groups, or whole class, as well as support learning from behind the scenes.

The Commitment: A minimum of a one hour/week commitment through the end of the school year. Some volunteers choose to support more than one classroom at the same time.
