ORGANIZATION: New Foundations Recovery Housing

  • 3 people are interested

Our organization is focused on recovery housing, serving men and women who identify with the disease of addiction. We rebranded over 2021 and our new website is in need of active blog writing. We would like to have 2 blogs per week written. We would like to have relevant content related to recovery housing, addiction, recovery, and topics related to these things.
We would need the volunteer to have experience with Yoast, SEO and word press. It is very time consuming to write a blog and edit within word press to pass SEO requirements. The individual would need to be able to write the blog and edit to pass SEO requirements to be ready to publish, when sending the blog piece to us to publish. If it is not edited and able to pass SEO, it will defeat the purpose of what we need the volunteer to do.

This is a remote opportunity to volunteer. We would need to see your previous work to determine if you're able to provide and produce what we're needing.

please reach out to Mikella Chrisman and Amy Parker at mchrisman@newfoundationsrecovery.org and also include aparker@newfoundationsrecovery.org

About New Foundations Recovery Housing

Location:

167 E. McMillan St, Cincinnati, OH 45219, US

Mission Statement

New Foundation's mission is to provide safe, sober, structured, and supportive recovery housing to those suffering from substance use disorder. We have homes for men, women, veterans, LGBQ+, MAT, and those with shared custody of their children.

Description

New Foundations has been around for the past 10 years, starting out with one home. Fast forward to today, and we have 11 properties across northern KY and Cincinnati OH. We have 240 beds combined. We are the only housing organization in our area to be NARR (national alliance of recovery residences) certified as a level II housing organization, which means we abide by certain standards that go above and beyond a typical "sober living". Mikella Chrisman took over in 2018 and she has completely transformed the organization into a place where true recovery happens by upping the standards for the program participants, providing a wealth of resources, ensuring no one falls through the cracks.

She also started the first MAT (medicated assisted treatment) homes in our area. It was not popular by traditional sober livings but that did not stop her. She believes everyone deserves a chance to change their life around, reconnect with their children and families, and be a contributing member of society.

We recently started a treatment track where we seek donations so folks that do not have funds coming in the door may do so as long as they are enrolled in an outpatient type of service. This allows them to get on their feet without being overwhelmed by 'life', and resort back to old coping mechanisms.
