We are seeking candidates to join our working board of directors in 2022. We seek individuals who believe in our mission, love the work we've done so far and want to help continue our growth through fundraising, special event planning, working on education and training or giving their time and talents in another area important to Mint.

Each Mint board member is expected to support our nonprofit by taking ownership of a project or program area and/or by developing resources and funds through their friends, work, network, neighborhood and more.

Mint Artists Guild has experienced two years of exceptional growth and served almost 6,000 creative children, families and youth in 2020 - 2021. With the right board members, we may be able to double that in the next two years.

About MINT ARTISTS GUILD

Location:

PO Box 21667, Detroit, MI 48221, US

Mission Statement

Mint Artists Guild helps to transform aspiring Detroit youth artists through education, exceptional engagement and experience, resulting in earning opportunities, skill-building, exposure, and mentoring. Mint launches creative careers and lasting connections. Mint also infuses the community with art and creative experiences, enhancing a collaborative, healthy and generous culture.

Description

Mint works with artists ages 13 to 23 on entrepreneurial, career and life skills, and gives them opportunities to sell their creative work. A summer jobs program, business workshops and online educational and informational resources are offered to young visual artists. In 2020, we launched the Metro Detroit Youth Arts Competition, a creative activity kit giveaway (of 5,500 kits) and in 2021, we launched leadership development training. This year, we are working on an alumni engagement program, adding creative jobs to our website and so much more. We need your help and support to continue our growth!
