Quick Overview: It is our goal to pair students with responsible and enthusiastic adults who can help them increase their confidence and understanding of the English language, while engaging in creative and enriching activities and discussions.

Mission: Our Intergenerational Program is seeking passionate, youth-friendly, and caring adult volunteers, age 55+, to work with identified Long Term English Learner (LTEL) middle school students. Volunteers will help students to develop and improve their English language reading comprehension, skills, and abilities through interactive and educational activities. Volunteers will be paired with a middle school student and read, review, and discuss a pre-selected book once a week.

Impact: Youth will increase their reading and speaking abilities, as well as develop a meaningful relationship with their senior tutors through an intergenerational collaboration. Success will be measured through the increased reading, writing, and speaking skills of student participants.
