The best gift is YOU! New Century Hospice is in the Colorado Springs and surrounding areas. We are in need of passionate, compassionate and reliable volunteers that are committed to making a difference in the lives of our patients and families. New Century Hospice is looking to recruit caring individuals to spend quality time with our patients in the most critical times of their lives. We are a family of hospice care providers focused on compassionate care when life matters most.
We support our volunteers and appreciate the important role they play in hospice care. Volunteer opportunities include; sitting bedside, reading, playing music, holding hands, talking about life review and holding space in quiet time for patients and their families. Other activities could include, sending cards, listening to stories, run errands, perform light housekeeping, make phone calls and play games.
Volunteers do make a difference. As a friend and companion to the patient, volunteers also support caregivers by allowing them free time and relief from their daily responsibilities and stress. Making a difference as a hospice volunteer begins with the desire to help the dying and their families.
New Century Hospice requires that volunteers complete orientation and training sessions and submit to a background check. The Volunteer Coordinator will work with the volunteers to make sure all steps are taken to complete the onboarding process to become a successful volunteer. We need volunteers for daytime hours, some evenings, and weekends. Time spent volunteering depends on your flexibility and the needs of our patients.
If you would like to make a difference please contact our Volunteer Coordinator and set up a time to discuss what we have to offer. We look forward to hearing from you soon!
