SPaN has an expansive vision: to empower everyone to enable educational equity. Our passion is to manifest this vision for families of children with disabilities. We are lean, agile, and in the process of transforming. During COVID the need for our help has intensified. In response, we are revamping our suite of tools and technology. This includes expanding our directory to include any resources related to Special Education. We are now seeking volunteers or interns with an interest in helping to build this directory and an interest in learning about entrepreneurship and non-profit operations/management. In this position, the intern will learn:
- How nonprofits can leverage technology and social media to expand their ability to empower underserved communities
- How to interact with potential members of an organization
- What technology is available to support small businesses and nonprofits
- Why SPaN's work matters not just to families of children with disabilities, but to society at large.
The ideal candidate will have strong research and organizational skills and is comfortable in using technology in all its forms. They will be independent, reliable, self-starters, with a passion for learning. They will be comfortable interacting with all levels of professionals. This is a remote position. The hours and days of the commitment are flexible but a minimum of 4 hours a week is desired. More hours are available upon request.
