"No one should die alone. Each human should die with the sight of a loving face". -Mother Teresa

The purpose of Vigil Volunteers is to provide support to dying patients who have no local family or friends-those who are essentially alone. Volunteers vigiling at the bedside will be trained to bring presence, peace and dignity to patients when death is immanent.

This role requires a capacity for empathy, the ability to be a good listener, the capacity to interact with others on their terms, and have the desire to show love and dignity to people in the most difficult time of their lives.

If interested in this life changing experience, please call the Volunteer Coordinator at 517-788-6838 for more details.
