We offer talented individuals the opportunity to lend their knowledge of the English language to our enthusiastic adult students. Instructors will help our students build English skills and conversational confidence. Instructors are not required to know a foreign language. Classes meet every Thursday from 7PM-8:30PM. All interested instructors will have the opportunity to observe a class and receive free training. Once on board you will have the knowledge and resources of dedicated staff partners that have over 35 years of combined teaching experience.

Responsibilities

Prepare lesson plans and teach English to speakers of other languages including but not limited to writing, reading, speaking, and listening skills.

Schedule

Thursday evenings from 7PM-8:30PM

Qualifications

Willingness to follow all COVID-19 protocols enacted by program

Over 18 years old

Six months commitment: with at least 2 hours per week

Able to complete 12 hour Literary Works training (free to volunteers)

Able to provide copy of resume and two professional references

Responsible and able to pass a background check

Accepting of other cultures and beliefs

Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus, but not necessary
