Caring Bears are made for grieving family members from clothing of their loved one. For a grieving person to hug a bear made from the favorite shirt/pajamas of their loved one, is deeply healing. Some bears might wear a special pin or other important items. These Caring Bears represent the person and are made to honor their memory. We know how devastating the loss of a loved one is on a family. Capital Caring Health provides hospice care to patients of all ages, from pediatrics to geriatrics. These Caring Bears are very meaningful to the family.
Our sewers also offer pillows and small lap blankets to families in addition to the Caring Bears. Patterns are provided to all sewers. Our sewers support each other via a monthly zoom and weekly emails which connect the group.
Do you enjoy sewing? Do you want to help a grieving person heal? If so, please consider joining our team as a Caring Bear Sewer. We provide the materials and the patterns for the Caring Bears. You never have to leave the comfort of your home; items will be delivered to you. You will also meet other amazing sewers who share a love for sewing and helping others.
