The volunteer Fundraising Coordinator is responsible for contributing to the development of Dance for All Bodies through organizing fundraising events, leading crowdfunding campaigns and finding sponsors.
This position is for you if you are interested in non-profit fundraising, crowdfunding campaigns and storytelling. If you are someone who remains persistent in the face of obstacles, and believes that dance should be made accessible to all regardless of ability, race, or income, this position is for you. Job Description
- The three main duties of the funding coordinator is to help DfAB expand its impact by:
- Initiating and leading fundraising campaigns.
- Keeping track of our donors and building relationships with them.
- Researching new grant opportunities as well as sponsor opportunities for DfAB.
Essential Functions
- Design and oversee fundraising events and crowdfunding campaigns from start to finish, including creating a timeline for the projects, working in collaboration with DfAB’s designers to create visuals to support fundraising efforts and sending thank you letters to our donors.
- Keep track of a list of donors and build relationships with them. We don’t have a CRM tool yet, but if interested, using a CRM tool to keep track of donors.
- Find potential sponsors for DfAB, write sponsorship inquiry letters and create strategies for attracting more sponsors.
- Find new avenues and services for DfAB to generate revenue to support our dance class programming.
- When necessary, research and keep a record of grant applications that DfAB is eligible for.
- When necessary, work in collaboration with co-EDs when writing grant applications.
Key Competencies/Skills
Preferred:
- Previous experience working for an arts, disability advocacy non-profit or other grassroots organization is highly preferred.
- Experience using DonorBox is highly preferred.
- Experience writing content for crowdfunding campaigns and grant applications is highly preferred.
- Degree in Accounting, Arts Management, Economics or Finance preferred.
Required:
- Ability to find or initiate creative funding opportunities and search for potential corporate sponsors.
- Superior time management skills, ability to multi-task projects and multiple calendars.
- Must be committed to DfAB’s mission to change the face of dance through accessible dance classes.
- Disciplined in working independently and remotely; not afraid to ask questions or admit when you don’t know something.
- Self-motivated and shows stamina in the face of obstacles.
- Collaborative mindset ; eager to be part of a team and contribute.
Work Environment
All work can be done remotely. You are also highly encouraged to attend our bimonthly (twice a month) meetings on Mondays 7:30pm EST/4:30pm PST.
Compensation
This is a volunteer, uncompensated position.
Expected Hours of Work
While there is room for flexibility in regards to hours, you will be expected to commit 5-6 hours/week. You might be expected to commit more than that during the weeks where we run crowdfunding campaigns or grant applications are due.
Preferred Education and Experience
At DfAB we believe that experience comes in many different forms. We want to prioritize those who demonstrate a strong commitment to our mission and are therefore willing to commit a great amount of time, thought, and effort into this cause. If you have previous experience in writing grants, sponsorship letters or budgeting that is great!

The mission of Dance for All Bodies is to dismantle ableism through access-centered dance classes, community-based learning, and equitable access workshops. We envision DfAB as a joyful, access-centered dance community where people can show up as their full authentic selves.
Description
Incorporated in 2019, Dance for All Bodies (DfAB) is a non-profit that organizes dance classes designed for people with disabilities. We welcome people of all abilities in our classes. Our classes, which represent a wide variety of dance styles, are donation based and held virtually over Zoom. We offer Closed Captions in all of our classes as well as ASL Interpretation. We aim to make people of all abilities feel more welcome in dance spaces, because everyone should have the opportunity to feel the power of dance. Just like Alvin Ailey, we believe that "dance came from the people and that it should always be delivered back to the people".
