Time Commitment: Flexible, approximately [1-5 hours per week]

Position Overview:

The Chrysalis Program is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Public Relations Volunteer to join our team. This role will play a crucial part in expanding our reach and impact by identifying new sponsorship opportunities and fostering mutually beneficial partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Research and Identify Prospective Sponsors:

    • Conduct research to identify potential sponsors and partners aligned with The Chrysalis Program's mission.
    • Analyze industry trends and competitor sponsorships to identify opportunities for collaboration.
  2. Outreach and Relationship Building:

    • Initiate contact with potential sponsors through emails, calls, and networking events.
    • Build and nurture relationships with sponsors, maintaining effective communication channels.
  3. Proposal Development:

    • Work closely with the fundraising team to develop compelling sponsorship proposals.
    • Tailor proposals to align with the objectives and interests of potential sponsors.
  4. Event Participation:

    • Attend relevant industry events, conferences, and networking functions to represent The Chrysalis Program.
    • Identify and seize opportunities for partnership development during events.
  5. Mutually Beneficial Partnerships:

    • Collaborate with the program team to understand organizational needs and goals.
    • Identify partnership opportunities that provide value to both The Chrysalis Program and potential sponsors.
  6. Reporting and Documentation:

    • Maintain detailed records of sponsor outreach, responses, and partnership agreements.
    • Provide regular updates to the Public Relations Coordinator and other relevant teams.

Qualifications:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of public relations, sponsorship, and partnership development.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Passion for the mission and values of The Chrysalis Program.

Description

The Chrysalis Program seeks to reduce or eliminate the effects of childhood trauma for African American girls and their families on Chicago's South Side and beyond.

The Chrysalis Program creates safe spaces for girls to heal, learn and grow by offering Wellness Workshops, Counseling, Life Skill Classes, Creative Arts Lessons, Parent Classes, Enrichment Field Trips, Mentorship and Community Events.

​The Chrysalis Program is unique because it takes a holistic approach to empowering; teaching both life skills and coping skills that gradually improves the quality of life for participants and their families.
