Volunteer opportunities

Volunteers may help in our office:

  • Writing letters, sending cards
  • Fulfilling administrative needs such as filing or answering the phone
  • Planning events, helping during the event

Volunteers may help with direct patient care:

  • Sit with the patient and allow the family to get some rest or catch up with household chores
  • Provide companionship
  • Take family photos
  • Companion Vigils (11th hour volunteers)
  • Veteran to Veteran

We will achieve this by concentrating on patient and family centered goals with a focus not only on the medical needs but also by providing care for the mental and spiritual needs of our patients and families during their journey.

Description

Specialized Hospice is a clinician lead organization with a main focus of providing great care and improving quality of life for any person approaching the end of their life due to a serious illness. We are looking for volunteers who have the hospice heart and want to make a difference in a person's life. You can volunteer by sitting with patients during their time of need, assisting with office duties, participating in a massage therapy program, playing music for patients and/or providing pet therapy.
