While this position is virtual or at least residence based we require residence in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis/St.Paul metro area, including the suburbs and outer ring of the metro.

While this is posted as volunteer, we have intention to transition this to a part time paid contract position. Golden Valley Community Foundation (GVCF) was established in 2011. It is an all volunteer board. The Foundation is seeking an experienced Non Profit leader who is well respected as a community leader in nonprofit management. The successful candidate should excel at building strong relationships, both internally and externally, and be able to provide leadership in strategic vision, leadership development, fundraising, program development, and general management for a dynamic, growing not-for-profit Community Foundation.

The Executive Director (ED) reports to the Board of Directors and is responsible for consistent achievement of GVCFs mission and financial objectives. The ED provides leadership to the Board in the areas of planning, budgeting and program development. The ED is the organization’s chief fundraiser and spokesperson and is responsible for cultivating partnerships with business, local nonprofits, community leaders and individual donors. The ED leads and directs staff and contractors and provides support and assistance to volunteers, including the Board of Directors and committees.

The ideal candidate will build on GVCF’s past successes and expand its reach and influence. The position requires an entrepreneurial and results-oriented approach. This person must be able to keep a big picture perspective while ensuring the attention to detail required is fully addressed. In addition, this candidate will bring energy, passion, intellectual curiosity, creativity, flexibility, and exceptional communication skills to their work.

Currently, this is an unpaid position and provides no health coverage benefits. An ideal candidate lives on this west side and is passionate about community engagement and leading an organization that is highly impactful in our geographic area. The current board chair is also a founder and is fully available to help you transition into this role. The mid-term objective is for this position to be paid.
