You don't have to be crazy to volunteer here.... we will train you!

Kindred Hospice is a fun place to volunteer...what we do is serious so we try to have fun when we can. We are looking for people who want to volunteer in our office. Office duties include:

  • making copies
  • filing
  • stuffing envelopes
  • affixing address labels
  • organize/compile admission packets
  • put papers into folders
  • check folders/files for completion
  • answer phones (as long as you are comfortable)
  • organize binders
  • other duties as assigned

We are very flexible in terms of the amount of time you can give. Ideally you can come in once a week for a couple of hours or every other week for a couple of hours. When you need to go or want to go you can leave. Volunteering is done in our Oak Brook office very close to the Oak Brook Shopping Center.

You will be fully trained. We are flexible about your training as well and you can take as long as you want to complete it.

3 Shifts

  • morning / 08:00 AM to 11:00 AM
    We're flexible.... any time you can give is welcome
  • 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM
    any time between 8 and 5 is appreciated: one hour, two hours, whatever.
  • afternoon / 01:00 PM to 04:00 PM
    We're flexible... any amount of time you can give, any start/end times welcome!

If you are searching for a way to make a difference in the lives of others, you belong here. Hospice volunteers are a valuable part of our care team. Based on your interests and preferences, receive specific volunteer training to help improve the quality of life for others.

From providing companionship at a patient’s bedside, to running errands, and from assisting with administrative duties to creating gifts for patients and their families, one of our volunteer coordinators will help you discover the best fit for you.

Volunteer Training

Volunteering takes no advanced medical training or great commitment. We support our volunteers and appreciate the important role they play in hospice care.

  • drug test, background check, fingerprinting, physical, training, TB test (all paid for and provided by Kindred Hospice)
