  • 6 people are interested

SPaN has an expansive vision: to empower everyone to enable educational equity. Our passion is to manifest this vision for families of children with disabilities. We are lean, agile, and in the process of transforming. During COVID the need for our help has intensified. In response, our newly created Development Committee is seeking two part-time, unpaid, college interns who will work remotely. No prior experience is required. Candidates should be keenly interested in learning more about the non-profit management and/or the special education advocacy industry. In this position, the intern will learn:

- How grants/gifts/sponsorships work together to underpin the financial health of a nonprofit
- How development expands the scope of impact a nonprofit can bring to fruition
- What is required to be successful in securing development funds
- Why SPaN's work matters not just to families of children with disabilities, but to society at large.

The ideal candidate will have very strong organizational, writing, and technology skills. They will be independent, reliable, self-starters, with a passion for learning. They will be comfortable interacting with all levels of professionals. This is a remote position. The hours and days of the commitment are flexible but a minimum of 2 hours a week is desired. More hours are available upon request.
