Do you live in North Beach or surrounding neighborhoods? Become a volunteer driver for seniors!
NEXT Village SF aims to help older adults in Northeast SF age in the comfort of their own home by providing volunteer support for shopping, transportation, minor household repairs, and more. We also work to increase members' well being by reducing social isolation with workshops, cultural events and social groups. Some of our members have lived in their homes for over 40 years and we want to continue to help them age in their community.
Many of our members need transportation assistance to and from appointments and grocery store trips; often, these drives are not very far, but our members are unable to make the trip by public transportation and don’t own a car. Some members may also need assistance with things like carrying their walker down the stairs and stowing it in the car, or helping carry heavy grocery bags. If you enjoy driving and would like to make a difference in seniors’ lives, please consider becoming a volunteer driver for NEXT!
It's fun and easy to be a NEXT Village volunteer! Just go to our 'Become a Volunteer' page ( https://nextvillagesf.org/become-a-volunteer/) and complete the interest form. After passing a background check, we'll get you started and connect you with your next friend! Become a part of our NEXT Village team and start making a difference today!
