Mission Statement

We aim to empower IHSS Recipients of Marin County to remain independent and safe by supplying quality, in-home Care Providers for whom we select and support.

Description

Public Authority of Marin was established in 2002 to improve the quality of care for IHSS consumers; those elderly, blind, and disabled citizens that
need assistance to remain in their home. IHSS Public Authority serves over 900 Medi-Cal recipients who are either aged, blind and/or disabled in Marin County. We provide caregivers so that clients can remain in their home and avoid being institutionalized. We have approximately 300 caregivers in our registry. Close to 80% of the caregivers live in Marin County, 75% identify as female, 80% are people of color. Caregivers are paid through Federal, State and County funds and have been working throughout the pandemic to support our clients. The client's satisfaction rate of their caregivers is 95% (2021 client survey).
