Mission Statement

The Suncoast Primate Sanctuary Foundation, Inc. is a federally recognized nonprofit organization (501c3), dedicated to zoological education and the care of aging and abused non-human primates and other displaced animals. The Sanctuary is one of the largest Animal, Children and Senior programs in N. Pinellas County.

The Sanctuary started back in 1954. We provide a retirement home for aged, domesticated, exotic animals that would not survive in the wild. Each resident has their own unique story and history. They are family to us. Our residents are treated with dignity for the remainder of their lives. They have customized for care for each of their specific needs.
Our short-term goal is to raise money to complete the renovation of the Modular buildings on our property:
1. Emergency Medical Clinic for the Animals
2. Education Center for Community Awareness for Children, Adults, Seniors, Veterans and their families, etc.
3. Welcome center and gift shop
4. After school program for school age children
Currently, we participate in several Community programs, including Juvenile Arbitration and Court Ordered Community Service. We also participate in several education programs within local areas schools, including Bright Futures, etc
