The Essex Teen Center is in need of volunteers for afterschool fun! Do you enjoy working with youth and want to help make their afterschool time special? Volunteers help prepare snacks, play games and support youth by being askable adults.
The minimum age for volunteers is 14 or a freshman in high school for Tween Center (4th and 5th grade) and 15 or a sophomore in high school for Teen Center (6th - 8th grade). We are looking for volunteers 21 and up to work with the high school students on Friday nights and 15 and up for Fridays with our middle school students. We would love to have volunteers of different ages and backgrounds. We hope to find volunteers that are available one day a week. If you are interested please email us!
The Essex Teen Center is located in the Five Corners, at 2 Lincoln Street, 2nd Floor, Essex Junction.
Teen Center Schedule:
Monday: Tween Center 3:00 - 5:30 PM
Tuesday: Teen Center 3:30 - 5:30 PM
Wednesday: Tween Center 2:15 - 5:00 PM
Thursday: Teen Center 3:30 - 5:30 PM
Friday: 6pm-8pm (one Friday each month Middle School, one Friday each month High School Students)

Mondays during the school year Tween Center: 4th and 5th grade.

Essex CHIPS (Community Health Initiatives & Programs for Students) is a non-profit organization in Essex, Vermont. For over thirty years, CHIPS has worked with community members to deliver substance abuse prevention campaigns and activities that promote healthy living.

- We ask that Tween and Teen Center volunteers participate one day a week if their schedule allows. We like our volunteers to arrive 20 minutes prior to the students arrival (this has been noted in the shift times).
- We are looking for engaging volunteers of different ages and backgrounds. If you have previous experience working with youth that is ideal.
