Are you interested in giving back to your community through direct service?

Have you benefited from having a mentor?

Do you want to complete community service hours in a convenient, consistent, and rewarding way?

Germanna Community College is currently recruiting volunteers to mentor college students. We are actively looking for reliable caring adults to help guide college students through transitioning times. Germanna offers mentoring opportunities through both demographic-specific and general mentoring programs.

The new College-wide Mentoring Program addition will target the general student population, allowing all students who want a mentor to be matched with one.

Great Expectations is a statewide program for students who are currently or were formerly in foster care. This program provides students with specialized advising and guidance throughout their college experience.

The Gladys P. Todd Academy is a dual enrollment program for underserved students attending James Monroe High School and Spotsylvania High School. Students who complete this program will receive a high school diploma along with an associate’s degree by the end of their senior year.

Germanna M.E.N. is a two-year retention-focused mentoring program for African-American men to help foster intellectual, personal, and professional growth through relationships in the community. Germanna M.E.N. is designed to create a deeper appreciation for excellence in education, service, and brotherhood.

Mentoring is a fantastic way to give back to the community, expand a resume and interpersonal skills, as well as complete community service hours in a consistent rewarding way.
