Event Description:
Drive through the park and enjoy different Halloween scenes. Collect prizes and snacks along the way!
Volunteer Duty Description:
Volunteers will need to be in character to help patrons ages 10 and under enjoy a safe night out. We will need help breaking down each section.
Volunteer Impact:
Volunteers provide extra help so that the event is a success. They provide a service that compliments staff and adds to the enjoyment of visitors.
Work Environment:
This event will be set up outside. Visitors will drive through the park to each of the scenes to collect snacks and prizes. There will be a restroom on site.
Volunteer Requirements:
All volunteers will be required to wear a mask and participate in a temperature check. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old. Each volunteer will need to compete a release form. Those under 18 years of age will need a parent/guardian to sign their form.
Other Instructions:
We would like for persons to dress in a non-scary costume or an all-black outfit to be a part of the different scenes. Volunteers should bring a water bottle, close-toed shoes, and wear clothing appropriate to the weather.
COVID-19 Policy:
Volunteers and staff must follow the COVID-19 policies below so that projects are safe for everyone.
- Social distancing must be practiced (6-feet between individuals)
- Masks/face shields are required for all volunteers (masks not provided)
- Volunteers must participate in an infrared temperature check
- State, federal, and local mandates must be followed
- If you have COVID-19 symptoms, please do not register
- If you are volunteering indoors you will be required to show proof of full vaccination
Group Registration Information:
Registration as a volunteer is first come, first served. A group leader must email rachel.vannoordt@raleighnc.gov to register. All groups will be required to provide a list of names and emails for their volunteers.
Per department policy, this volunteer opportunity is not to be used towards court-appointed/ suggested community service hours.
