The DuBois Fort Visitor Center
The Visitor Center is the heart of Huguenot Street and the building that hosts our tour office.

Historic Huguenot Street is pleased to announce a special revival of Stone House Day, a formerly annual tradition, which will be hosted in partnership with the Town of New Paltz. On Saturday, September 8, the National Historic Landmark District will host Old New Paltz Stone House Day to celebrate the 340th anniversary of the settling of New Paltz.

After nearly ten years, HHS is bringing back Old New Paltz Stone House Day, with a stronger focus on the diversity of Hudson Valley history. It will be a celebration of all the cultures that impacted New Paltz and Ulster County including African, Dutch, English, Esopus Munsee, and French.

We are looking for volunteers to fulfill a variety of positions including but not limited to Security, Docents and Parking Attendants.

About Historic Huguenot Street

Location:

Mission Statement

To engage, educate, and challenge a diverse audience by collecting, preserving, and interpreting the buildings, objects, documents, and stories of the Huguenots’ multicultural journey in America.

Description

Founded in 1894, the Huguenot Historical Society is an historic preservation, research, and educational organization. Today, Historic Huguenot Street includes 30 (museum houses, outbuildings and rental properties), nine Family Associations, and over 1500 members. From groups of local schoolchildren to travelers from around the world, we host visitors who want to experience our chapter of American History for themselves. Our hardworking staff is always seeking to improve and increase our contribution to the community: by restoring and maintaining the houses and outbuildings; by preserving our collections objects; by making our archival materials more accessible; by educating the public through outreach programs; or by making contact and maintaining relationships with the groups, individuals, and corporations who generously give to ensure that the organization's contributions will endure in the present and grow for the future.
