ORGANIZATION: PS Science

  • 3 people are interested

PS Science is seeking 3-8 volunteers to come to our headquarters for a few hours weekly and help prepare materials that will be used for hands-on science lessons. Volunteers will help with simple, but essential tasks such as counting, cutting, folding, and prepping sets of materials to be used in classrooms by students.

Volunteers can create their own schedule and volunteer on an ongoing basis anytime during the week except Wednesday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. This is a perfect opportunity for individuals or a group of friends looking for something meaningful to do for a couple hours on weekdays.

Mission or Broader Program Description: The great minds of tomorrow are in elementary schools everywhere, but science is not. PS Science brings inspiring lessons to classrooms that cultivate a deep understanding of the world and grow students and teachers who are confident and inspired by science.

Impact: PS Science brings engaging hands-on science lessons to over 5,000 elementary students each week throughout the school year. These lessons transform the learning experience for students in classrooms where open-ended investigations are often missing.
