Do you want to be a part in helping to make a difference in the lives of children with autism or other developmental disabilities? Do you believe that children with autism deserve the opportunity to reach their full potential? As a non-profit organization we rely on supportive community members that want to help us serve our mission. We are pleased to now have an opportunity to consider quality candidates to join and serve on our Volunteer Board of Directors. You do not need to be an expert on autism, we are looking for diverse individuals that have experience in different professions. Our Board Members support our school, help raise funds, and communicate our message throughout the community. We currently hold Board Meetings via ZOOM every other month and may plan on in-person meetings in the future. The Jericho School has been providing quality services to families in this community for over 25 years. You can find out more about our non-profit school here: www.TheJerichoSchool.org. If you are at all interested in learning more about this opportunity please contact us at jerichoschool@yahoo.com. We look forward to hearing from you!

1351 Sprinkle Drive, FL - Jacksonville, FL 32211, US

Mission Statement

The mission of The Jericho School (non profit 501(c) 3 corporation) is to provide comprehensive, individualized science-based education not otherwise available in our community. We believe those children with autism and other developmental delays deserve the opportunity to reach their full potential. The school’s curriculum provides effective treatment and education programs to children and their families based on Applied Behavior Analysis and Verbal Behavior.

Description

In 1995 a group of concerned parents and business leaders found the need to establish a new school for children with autism in Jacksonville Florida. The Jericho School was created to make available the best practices in early childhood development and education to families who have children with developmental disabilities. At that time The Jericho School was one of only a few select schools in the United States to provide a science-based curriculum utilizing Applied Behavior Analysis. The Jericho School has become a model program and a leader in the treatment of children with autism and the application of Applied Behavior Analysis and Verbal Behavior. We currently have a center-based clinic, a kindergarten program, an intensive summer program and a community outreach program.
