  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.

The role of the Activity Support Team Member is to provide quality and appropriate interaction with the client(s) and equine during an EAL session . The most important function of the ASTM is to serve as an extension of the ESMHL by observing the safety of both the equine and client(s). For each session the ASTM will receive a report 24hrs before the session. The document will state the activity the client will be working on and the role of the ASTM for that particular activity. Tasks may include being an "obstacle" in an obstacle course, side walking as a support to the client, reaching for objects as the client asks, tearing down the arena set up and more. Following each session ASTM will remain for a short debrief about the session to ensure proper follow up and planning for the client's next session.

About Olive's Branch Healing Inc

5 Bullfrog Road, Grantville, PA 17028, US

Mission Statement

Our mission is to eliminate barriers preventing marginalized and urban communities from having access to horses. Our goal is to open doors to the equestrian community to all, thus creating a more inclusive world of horses. We create access to horses through volunteering, Equine Assisted Learning and Coaching, equine rescuing, equine leasing, and partnership with local individuals or groups/businesses.

Olive’s Branch Healing Incorporated (OBH) is a non-profit volunteer and donor based horse rescue dedicated to diversifying the equestrian community while also ensuring proper care, nutrition, and training for rescue horses. Cultivating a safe and welcoming environment is at the forefront of our work as we seek to extend the hospitality of Christ to any who come through our doors.

Our volunteers are crucial because they are not only gaining experience with the horses, but life skills that can be applied to other areas of their lives. Volunteers keep the wheel of OBH going and offer the horses new interactions to keep them learning.

Our goal for the next year is to get solidified with 2 volunteers at each shift which generally run about 3hrs each. We are also needing volunteers to help with the business management aspect of things like marketing, volunteer coordinator, and more. In addition, we are looking for board members who are passionate about creating access to horses and agriculture related activities for marginalized and urban communities.

We are still very young (EST June 2020), but believe in the healing work the horses offer to us. We hope you will consider how you might get involved to create a more diverse equestrian world!
