Mediation Host (Online)
Centinela Youth Services, a leading provider of restorative justice alternatives to traditional youth arrest and prosecution, is working to keep teens in school, off the streets, and out of jail.
Our nationally-acclaimed mediation program allows youth to:
- Take responsibility for a harm they have caused in their community
- Make meaningful restitution to a harmed party through mediation
- Avoid a criminal record and contribute positively to their community
We are seeking adults with an interest in restorative justice, dispute resolution, or family mediation to act as Zoom hosts in our program.
This role involves light technical duties, including:
- Inviting participants into a live Zoom session from a virtual waiting room
- Coordinating breakout rooms when required,
- Managing a small number of online document signings
From your position as Zoom mediation host, you will be playing a vital role in an important process that is reducing youth recidivism, improving public safety, and measurably improving lives. A thorough orientation to the role is provided.

Our vision is to use the principles of Restorative Justice and Trauma-Informed Care to empower youth, families, and crime victims to become accountable, to heal and to realize their full potentials.
Centinela Youth Services (CYS), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community-based organization, was founded in the Centinela Valley in 1975 to provide youth counseling; physical and mental health, academic, and developmental intervention; and juvenile crime prevention services. In the mid-90s, due to the strong outcomes achieved by the youth served, CYS services were expanded into many of Los Angeles County’s high-needs communities.
