Overview Greg Tanaka for Congress (CA - 18) is looking for a bright and motivated Event manager. This is an exciting internship/volunteering opportunity to have a significant impact on the campaign. You should have excellent verbal communication, be highly organized and be able to multitask. Desired qualifications The ideal candidate must be enrolled in an educational program upon the start of your internship and have an interest in public policy, community organizing, political science, economics, English, communications, public relations or a similar area of study or career path. Candidates must also be able to dedicate at least 5 hours per week toward the campaign.Essential duties include:

• Understand the requirements of the event, both online and in-person
• Be responsible for planning the event within stated time and budget constraints
• Book venues and schedule speakers
• Reach out to vendors (eg, catering) and find the right fit based on budget, location, and other factors
• Be responsible for getting the venue ready on the day of the event
• Be able to handle any issues that may arise during the event

• Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work with minimal supervision
• Critical thinking and creative problem solving
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and competing deadlines simultaneously
• Previous experience in event management is preferred but not required
• Ability to work in a team environment
