SRC volunteers work on a 1:1 basis with students to complete homework, school assignments, literacy practice, and preparation for standard exams. Each student is paired with a cleared volunteer or tutor to work on areas of challenge. The program was created after the data collected from school reports showed that our weekly after-school participants were in dire need of additional academic support, particularly in math and language arts. This need is even greater due to the academic challenges facing students after a year of virtual learning due to Covid-19.
