It's a Sensory World!

We are looking for volunteers to serve along side of us for Winter Camp 2021!

It's a Sensory World! is a non profit organization that serves children with special needs ages 2-18. We are offering Winter Camp the week of 12/27/21 (M-F 9am-4pm) . This camp is offered to families currently involved with our organization and new families within the community. We are looking for fun, energetic, and engaging volunteers who are ready to jump into fun! Get ready to be part of a dynamic team, make new connections and create lasting relationships with some incredible children!

We rely heavily on our volunteer program in order to run seasonal camps. This volunteer opportunity is a commitment. Morning, Afternoon, and all day shifts will be an option for all volunteers.

Mission Statement

At It's a Sensory World! our mission is to provide quality, but cost effective educational, recreational and therapeutic programs for children with special needs and their families. We envision a sense of community where children of all abilities and their families network in a caring, nurturing and enriching environment. We want all children to have the unique experience It's a Sensory World! provides, without financial worry.

Who Are We?

It’s a Sensory World! is a center that offers a variety of multi-sensory educational, recreational, and therapeutic services for children with special needs and their families. Our unique programs bridge the gap between therapy and mainstream education and recreation.

Why Are We Different?

  • When we first opened in October 2007, we were the only center offering services supplemental to therapy in North Texas and one of only two in the country. We are the only center where parent empowerment is a central part of our mission.

  • We are the only center in North Texas that offers these unique bridge programs all in one center.

  • We have a large therapeutic gym which is typically only found in a therapy setting. Our gym is unique because it is open to the public, and we use it to provide the students enrolled in our many programs with the intense sensory input they need.

  • We have a unique, child-centered approach which blends multiple disciplines, including speech and language, sensory integration, behavior modification and special education.
